It's All Good - Week #46
What is up y'all. Que tal?? So I'm hitting your inbox again with an email, a weekly email perse. So let me tell you about my week...
So Tuesday, not very eventful at least at the start we literally just rode around on our bikes and talked to people. We really didn't have much planned and so we had to make some magic happen. We have a lesson with some dope Puerto Ricans, hit up a park during a soccer tournament we think, ran by so many formers...we tried to have a lesson with Yeisel with Cindy and victor but they had a family emergency. Then anyways actually sick moment happened. We called a guy we had planned a lesson with, Atkinson was chatting with Yeisel so I just popped that bad boy to my ear. The dude was super old and Cuban, but the gift of tongues must be real or something bc the Spanish all just made sense and was flowing out of me...it was like a 15 minute call and like 10 minutes afterwards i was like shoot I I definitely could not have done that with this guy 6 months ago..so that was awesome..but it's a grind today, slept like a rock.
Wednesday was actually so dope, we had dinner with the Cuban guy that lived in the Bronx and Miami, Presidente Lazaro. He is normally real loud, and aggressive, but he opened up and it was so sweet!! Then we drove to Nicholasville in beautiful weather...no body answered...so we drove back during golden hour and it was nice.
Thursday we had interviews, but at the end of the day not the start so it was a bit weird. But it was really good!!
So the weekend hit and because we had basically spent the week just finding people, we had I think 20 lessons planned, so it was a lil loco. We drove from place to place...and we made 2/6 lessons today. We also had a dinner with the Rodriguez family which always slaps. Then volleyball night. Good stuff!!
Saturday was more of the same running around Lexington for lessons that fall through, we did get 2 really good ones...luckily those we were the ones with members coming, so it worked out. We brought Lazaro out to the Puerto Ricans and he killed it. Atkinson hates to be quiet during lessons and Lazaro is Cuban. So I was on keep the kid quiet duty. And you already know I did a good job!! Got a cute pic too. Then the Bobadilla's came to another lesson and killed it!! I guess we did have a video call lesson with a dude who bashed us...I don't bible bash, but i know a lot. So I basically just had my notes open and would write something a scripture or a concept that would completely disregard his doubts and argument, and Atkinson loves to bash so he ran with it...we actually kept it pretty spiritual, and he's reading the book of Mormon now. So there's that. Then we had good old soccer night...the boys pull up and hand me 2 shirts, a Mexico jersey and a black shirt that still had the tags, they were like ayy you were vibing with Brian when we wasn't feeling good at volleyball so here's some Regalos. Kinda fun. Soccer night happened, always solid.
Sunday was even more of the same but this time we had church and were on bikes. So it was a party that's for sure. Managed to have 3 lessons. It twas good stuff...then we came back and I learned I have to play an actually pretty tough song at zone conference this week...I don't think they realize that playing a song requires practice...and time to practice which idk if well have...so I'll let you know how it goes. We had another lesson where I was on kid duty, but the pic isn't as good this time...
Kinda long today my b, but it was a solid week. Lexington is still beautiful, and life is still good. Love y'all; always stay humble, have courage and be kind.
Te amo
