It's All Good - Week #19

 ¿Que tal?

Ya boi is now in the big city!! Soo exciting!! Louisville is the best!! It was seeing acual houses instead of empty corn fields as we drove haha.

Anyways so...quick run down on my new area/companions: I'm in an area called "OLA" apparently from elder Jessee, the last mission president didn't know how to spell hola, so he named this area ola! Fun stuff. My area is the largest in the mission, I cover the most of Louisville, down to the bottom of Kentucky. Originally when there weren't so many Spanish missionaries, my areas basically was the only Spanish set in Louisville. So that's cool. 99% of the work we do is in Spanish, we refer all of our English referrals to other elders. Its really sweet!! we drive a mom van around too!!

My comps area both Bomb!! Elder Reyes was in my last zone and already knew he was a beast before i got here. He was originally called to Mexico, and his Spanish is about the same as mine. The problem is we both hardly speak any Spanish…and we only teach in Spanish. So that brings us to Elder Amata. he is a surf boi from corona California,  and he can ballance standing up on our yoga ball, which is something i cant do....yet. He has been out for just over a year, and he's still learning Spanish. Were all in it together, teaching, learning Spanish, and everything. They are both super chill and I love them already.

So lets see any fun or exciting things that happened this week... We had transfers, a cant stand on a yoga ball. I taught my first successful English class, we had lessons with Susy. Man Susy is great. she's a single mom and doesnt know how to stop some habits in her life, and she loves it when we come over. Ill update you guys as i learn more haha. Im still new and dont know all the people well.

We had exchanges with our Zls. Our Zls our chill except for elder Livingston, hes a little bit...how do i say this, annoying?? pernicious?? idk if that's how you spell it but well go with that. Me and Reyes had a solid time with him though, we did give our nearly a dozen book of Mormons. But Livingston would rip us out of there before we could get any contact information, so take that as you will.  At least they have the libro with them.

The more and more I've struggled with Spanish, the more and more I feel closer to Jesus Christ. It amazing what mistakes and failure can do in our life. That's is how we learn to grow and develop as individuals. The experiences we have and the memories we make, create who we are currently and eventually culminate in the person that Jesus Christ wants us to be. I think I often look at that person as somebody that i can never live up to, always look toward but never be that person. But I've learned that we all are already that person. Now this doesn't mean that in the future we cant become better and keep becoming the person that he wants us to be. We all make mistakes, Repentance is a daily process. Jesus Christ looks to us as we are and as we could be. He understands what we are going through. The atonement allows us to consistently become the best version of ourselves, day in and day out. Its truly amazing!!

There were like a million birthdays this week so happy birthday everyone!! Shout out to my dad and Landon who spoke in church last Sunday. Wish i could be their, but i know y'all did great!! I love y'all and hope to hear from you!

Te amo
-Max
