It's All Good - Week #4 in the Field
Hola mi amigos!! This week was sooooooooo fetching long but it was sooooo fetching good. There is opposition in all things so it’s all good. This week Cristan and Felica got baptized and confirmed!! Unfortunately Cary couldn’t get the week off from work so he was not baptized, but we worked something out with his manager and we’re down for the first week in November, but anyway quick recap of my week.
Monday had some solid p-day shenanigans. Some ping pong,
some sea food Alfredo, and mas.
Tuesday we had new missionary training which sucked, but we
got to see my g-pa elder haws who is always a homie. We also got Cain’s chicken
and that slapped.
Wednesday we talked to Cary, had some popping contacts, and
met up with the zone leaders and had an interview with Cristan and Felicia. It
was kinda wack bc we had 6 elders just chilling basically. The interview was
happening in the other room, and anyway it was solid. We got some pics with the
squad.
Thursday we had interviews and exchanges with Croydon
somewhere, I can never say it right. But we got to chill with Elder Coleman who
Brander for some reason basically worships. I don’t really know why? But Coleman’s
supper awesome and a straight homie. He’s got Spanish pretty much down at least
grammatically. He was trying to teach us basically everything with subjunctive,
but I didn’t catch everything. But it was solid. Brandner did the dishes when Coleman
was here which is wack bc he never does anything. So hahah that was a miracle
by itself. We had a few bomb lessons that day and one in Spanish where Coleman
popped off. I said a few sentences and Elder Brandner says about the same as me,
but probably a little more. It was good. I need to just open my mouth and say
anything sometimes, but I’m afraid to mess up something. It’s all good. I’m
gaining confidence.
Friday we exchanged back and we stole their keyboard and a
soccer ball they weren't using. So that was siiick!! We also did some baptism
prep!! For some reason my comps could not figure out the copy machine so that
was solid. I was cleaning and I didn’t know what was going on haha. But they
eventually got it and made copies of the program.
Saturday was the baptisms!! We woke up and everybody was
feeling nervous and kinda had that anticipation you get like on Christmas. So we
go over super early and start filling the font and everything is set up perfect
for Covid and everything. I for some reason got stuck playing the prelude and
hymns for the baptism which was soo bad, but also really nice. I messed up a
lot as it was the first time I have played the children’s hymns for baptism in
a long time at least. But it went well and nobody told me I did bad. But the
baptism itself and everything leading up to it was supper cool!! Elder Pajaro
cried which was awesome!! Their friends gave talks and it was supper spiritual.
I kept just having thoughts about every soul is great in the eyes of God. Even
if I get rejected from here on out I helped baptize these people, we did that
work. Well the spirit did, but we helped.
I remember the second lesson I had with them I asked them to decide their
baptism date, and they made it!! It was super awesome!!
That’s basically it. There were some more lessons in Spanish
and cool moments. Also long days and longer nights. I haven’t been able to sleep
well, but it’s all good.
At the very start of the week Lando got his mission call!!!
The video my mom sent me didn’t work, and I was so nervous, but I got it and he’s
called to DC French speaking!!!! Wooooo. Soo sick. Congrats man!! It was also Lauren’s
and the B-Mix’s birthday this week so happy birthday!!! That’s all for me this
week. Hope you guys have a great week!!
Te amo
